Trim pieces, hood, fenders, if straight should fetch a good resale price. Could be some want for the axle too.

Wow, that is minty shape. Definitely a great lawn ornament. I found a Merc grille like that 2 summers ago in an old logging horse sled lay down area up north of Nipigon. One of these days, i'll nail it to the wall of my barn.

Regarding the 518 and the tire size, you were right about them being oversized. They usually came with 18.4x34 or 23.1x26 sizes and the wheels on the left side kinda look like Timberjack colours. Good catch as i was hoping you'd get a good view of them. 24.5x32 is the on that machine Good video. Makes a person wonder what is wrong with the 3155 John Deere farm tractor.

Thank you for showing the old IRON 😊 That JD (544-B) back in 1979 we had 3 on a sewer main line ULID sewer jon in a coastal city. I liked the shuttle control for them. The Forward and reverse were imprint on the metal. They were very good loaders for running pea gravel and work on side of ditch. All the muck they dug out of ditch was loaded on dump truck. They had a huge dump area that they filled with spoils. We backfill with other materials because we dug in the streets and alleyway 😊

Hi, skadill. Thanks for the video. Good stuff. A couple of other commenters are right that the dozer with the oddball military-looking track system is a Vickers Vigor, Rolls Royce diesel, about 180 horsepower I think, poor mechanicals. spent a LOTTTA time in pieces and did not last long in production. Monarch may have been the only American manufacturer to use a steering wheel on a crawler but they were not the only manufacturer. Italian Fiatcrawler had steering wheels for many years through to the 1950s. The first three rear-engined front shovels look to be Austin Westerns. There were several outfits making similar units back in the day. I don't know what make the fourth one is. Just my 0.02. You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

That is a nice find and a great example of how long something can last when taken care of. All the forestry mods are in place. The winch makes it one of the best balanced dozers ever made. The design of the machine was simple and it was in production long enough to have most all the short comings worked out. The C frame dozer was more popular in Canada than the US but lots of them migrated down this way used. They were the predominant forest road builders in the sixties and early seventies in these parts. Thanks for the tour and the memories.
